After graduating from Cornell Law School in 2002, I served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ursula Ungaro, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. I assisted and advised the Judge on all aspects of a 150-case civil docket, which covered diverse issues such as civil rights, contract, employment, admiralty, intellectual property, securities and tort law. After my clerkship, I joined Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, and litigated cases involving issues of fraud, corporate liability and defamation, among others. I subsequently joined the boutique firm Cohen & Gresser LLP in New York. In 2009, I joined the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York, and represented the United States government in federal court in over one hundred civil cases covering a wide array of regulatory, constitutional, medical malpractice, tort, tax, employment discrimination, and bankruptcy issues. In September 2013, I founded Madsen Law P.C., a law firm that provides civil litigation services to individuals and small businesses.
